SEO Intern in Patna — What You'll Do
This SEO intern in Patna position at CS Groups gives you structured, hands-on experience managing real SEO campaigns for 10+ active client websites across industries including consulting, real estate, education, and e-commerce. From week one, your optimizations go live on real websites indexed by Google — not mock exercises or sandbox projects.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Conduct keyword research using tools like Google Keyword Planner, Ubersuggest, and Ahrefs to identify target keywords for client pages
- Perform on-page SEO optimization — meta titles, meta descriptions, heading structure (H1/H2/H3), image alt text, and internal linking
- Write and optimize SEO content briefs for blog posts targeting keywords with 500–5,000 monthly searches
- Audit client websites for technical SEO issues — broken links, page speed, crawl errors, duplicate content, and sitemap gaps
- Track and report keyword rankings weekly using Google Search Console and rank tracking tools
- Build basic backlinks through directory submissions, guest post outreach, and local citation management
- Assist in monthly SEO performance reports — organic traffic, keyword movement, CTR, and impressions from Google Search Console
- Research competitor SEO strategies and identify content gaps for client websites
- Update and refresh existing blog content to improve rankings for pages dropping in SERPs
Learning Path — Month by Month
- Month 1: SEO fundamentals onboarding, tool training (GSC, Ahrefs basics, Screaming Frog), keyword research for 2 client accounts, first 5 on-page optimizations published live
- Month 2: Independent management of 2–3 client accounts, content brief writing, technical audit for 1 full website, first ranking movement report presented to the team
- Month 3: Full SEO cycle ownership — research to reporting — for assigned accounts, before/after traffic comparison, and final performance presentation to the digital marketing lead
Who Should Apply
This internship is best suited for students pursuing or recently completing a degree in Mass Communication, Computer Science, BBA, MBA Marketing, or any field where you have a genuine interest in how search engines work and how websites rank. You do not need prior professional SEO experience — we train from scratch. What matters is curiosity about search behaviour, willingness to learn technical basics, and attention to detail in content work.
We receive 30 to 50 applications per opening and shortlist 8 to 10 candidates for a brief interview. The interview includes a short practical exercise — you may be given a URL and asked to identify 3 SEO improvements. Prepare by doing a basic audit of any website before your interview.
What You Will Walk Away With
By the end of 3 months at CS Groups, you will have worked on 10+ live client websites, written 15–20 SEO content briefs, performed at least 2 full technical audits, and tracked keyword movement across real campaigns. You will receive a completion certificate, a LinkedIn recommendation from your direct supervisor, and a documented portfolio of real SEO work including before/after ranking screenshots. Interns who complete the program and perform consistently are given first priority when full-time SEO Executive roles open — historically, 2 out of every 5 interns who completed the full program were offered a paid role within 90 days of finishing.
